Responsibilities
- Receive scheduled shipments, review documentation, and process receipts through the Logistics Management Program (LMP).
- Operate forklifts capable of lifting 15,000 pounds to move, load, unload, transfer, transport, stack or unstack palletized goods, boxes, crates, merchandise, materials, and supplies.
- Operate a floor-controlled electric bridge crane with a capacity of ten tons on the loading dock to unload items from vehicles.
- Ensure proper placement and attachment of weight handling gear such as cables, ropes, and slings for loading and unloading large equipment.
- Check ropes, cables, and equipment for wear or damage and replace as needed.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to load, unload, and move materials, working indoors or outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Move oversized systems and materials through narrow aisles and operate warehouse tractors for special handling.
- Perform manual warehousing tasks, including lifting heavy items, verifying materials, and storing or palletizing them.
- Remove materials from storage, prepare for shipment, and verify against documents.
- Use measuring devices for dimensions and computations.
- Possibility of injury from falling or shifting loads; exercise caution and report damages.
- Possibility of exposure to cuts, bruises, and other injuries.
- Ensure security of loads, avoid overloading, and determine safe loading practices.
- Perform driver's maintenance and fill out daily logs.
- Possibility of physical strain and exposure to environmental conditions.
- Handle hazardous materials with proper HAZMAT training.
Qualifications
- Be a US citizen able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Pass a drug test prior to start.
- Have a valid state DOT driver's license to access the base and operate company vehicles.
- Proven experience with multiple types of forklifts.
- Obtain a TYAD operating permit.
- Familiarity with transporting HAZMAT.
- Able to lift and move items weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Operate hand and foot controls of forklifts and tractors.
- Be computer literate with basic software skills.
- Have physical endurance for vibration and physical tasks.
