Job Description
Primary Function of the Position
The Material Handler 2 is an intermediate position responsible for basic material-handling in warehouse duties, supporting Production operations, both Sustaining and NPI, and other internal customers.
Essential Job Duties
This position will fulfill the following roles (if applicable to site):
- Tool Kits: Utilize Production work orders process to assemble toolkits.
- Receiving: Receive materials physically and systemically for use in production and engineering projects.
- Parts Put-away: Move approved production materials from staging areas into storage locations physically and systemically.
- Storage Market (SMKT, KMKT, MMKT, SVKT, etc.): Manage storage and replenishment processes.
- Point-of-use parts replenishment: Replenish parts for designated production lines, following FIFO principles.
- Maintain, report, and drive STO’s cross-divisional and other location replenishment processes.
- Parts Replenishment: Replenish parts at point-of-use, following FIFO.
- MT: Fulfill and transact Material Transfer requests.
- Sales Order Fulfillment: Fulfill and transact sales orders.
- STO: Process approved Stock Transfer Orders.
- VLM: Process Vertical Lift Module orders.
- Route Running: Fulfill Kanban and Bin to Bin transactions.
- Cross Dock: Perform cross dock functions.
- Obtain certification across all core curricula.
- Inventory Control: Conduct audits, verify parts, evaluate bin capacity, and maintain SOX compliance records.
- Assist Material Handler-1 as needed to improve productivity and accuracy.
- Comply with Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) and housekeeping processes.
- Maintain warehouse safety and 5S principles.
- Achieve all warehouse-related task certifications.
- Communicate material movement status verbally and via email.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Locate and count parts accurately, execute WMS data input, and complete documentation.
- Apply knowledge of material flow and warehousing principles to assignments.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- 1-2 years of related experience at Intuitive or 2-4 years externally.
- Experience and/or certification in operating material-handling equipment.
- Adherence to attendance, safety, quality, and performance guidelines.
- Experience with MS Office, SAP, Agile, WMS preferred.
- Inventory control experience (cycle counting, physical inventories).
Required Education and Training
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Kanban systems and lean principles.
Working Conditions
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Load/unload trucks using forklift or pallet jacks.
- Prepare shipments on skids/pallets.
- Extensive walking and physical motions required.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently.
