Job description

Description

Material Handlers are responsible for managing raw materials and finished goods for the Production Department. They operate forklifts safely and collaborate with production supervisors and machine operators to meet equipment needs.

Night Shift - 12 hours, 7pm - 7am, rotating days & weekends

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour plus $2.10 shift differential per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts safely, following all safety rules, using horns, and maintaining proper speeds.
  • Work collaboratively within and outside the department.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and all procedures.
  • Prioritize tasks and demonstrate urgency.
  • Scan materials in D365 to maintain inventory levels accurately.
  • Stage raw materials for production in a timely manner.
  • Properly stretch wrap and stage pallets of finished products.
  • Dispose of trash properly and keep the warehouse organized.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the raw material warehouse.
  • Work overtime as needed and cover for absences.
  • Complete forklift training satisfactorily.
  • Willing to receive training in other plant areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous material handling experience required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • None required.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Ability to read, speak, and write English proficiently, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.

Physical Demands: The physical demands include operating forklifts and other mechanical equipment (100% of workday), and a combination of sitting, walking, and standing. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment: Typical manufacturing setting with high noise levels requiring hearing protection. Exposure to extreme temperatures and machinery hazards. Awareness of moving parts is necessary.
