Job summary

CMC provides opportunities in the steel reinforcement and construction industries. This role involves hands-on work across equipment operation, loading and unloading materials, and actively participating in safety programs within an industrial setting.

You may operate cranes or manufacturing equipment or work in an office environment, with strong teamwork to solve problems and support project goals. Training and advancement opportunities help you grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Experience with metal sorting is a plus but not required; ability to distinguish metals and materials for grading and safety hazards.
• Frequent lifting of 25 lbs or more; carrying/pushing objects up to 100 ft.
• Physical tasks include climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Must stand for long periods in an industrial environment with weather exposure.

Responsibilities

• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows safety regulations.
• Operates production equipment according to established procedures.
• Participates in CMC Safety Programs and upholds the CMC Safety Culture.
• Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist in unloading and loading of material for customers.
• Capable of operating multiple pieces of material handling equipment used in scrap industry.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, clean, lubricate, and refill necessary fluids.
• Promote a good team environment.

What You'll Need

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Experience with metal sorting a plus but not required; to include the ability to distinguish between different metals and/or other materials for grading purposes and recognizing safety hazards
• Must be able to frequently lift 25 lbs or more to include carrying or pushing objects up to 100ft
• Must be able to perform the physical task of the job assigned; to include climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in an industrial environment with exposure to all elements of weather

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
