Job summary

Estes Express is seeking a dock worker to load and unload freight, strap and pad cargo, and log freight condition at the service center. The role requires frequent lifting, standing, and operating pallet jacks or forklifts.

You must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, comply with safety rules, and pass pre-employment screening. Indiana-based position with local transport experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Forklift experience or certification preferred.
• Able to push/pull loaded pallet jack/hand truck with minimum 70 lbs.
• Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting, twisting, etc.
• Able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends; dependable.
• Able to lift ~70 lbs or more as required.
• Ability to interact well with others; work independently or in a team.
• Capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check; authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Operate duties as assigned beyond listed tasks.
