Job summary

Estes Express is seeking a dock associate in Illinois to load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, or by hand, and to strap and pad freight to prevent damage. You will accurately record the condition of freight upon arrival at the service center and perform routine equipment inspections.

The role requires the ability to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and dependable attendance in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior forklift operation experience or certification preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move at least 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Properly load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment.
• Attend regularly and be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends.
