The role covers loading, unloading, staging, scanning, and movement of freight in a dock/warehouse setting. Responsibilities include operating various MHE, assisting drivers, ensuring safety compliance, and mentoring newer team members.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating).
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings and perform basic arithmetic.
• Basic computer and handheld scanner proficiency expected.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight for accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Identify damaged freight and promptly report issues or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock environment.
• Support dock productivity and help with workflow priorities.
• Train, mentor, and support other Material Handlers.
