Job summary

Southern Tier Logistics in Horseheads, NY is seeking a Forklift Operator for the 2nd shift. This position runs Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with a competitive pay range and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with co-workers and coordinate to receive instructions and coordinate activities
• Operate forklift equipment loading, unloading and storing product
• Ability to stack and store merchandise in appropriate areas
• Utilize our scanner process and RF scanners
• Audit paperwork - ensure packing list matches what was received
• Checking loads for damage
• Maintaining forklift equipment - proper inspections, and safety standards
• Preparing pallets for shipment - may need to band them, wrap them, etc.
• Basic math and counting skills
• Be a self-starter, ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Pay Range - $17.50-22.00

Physical Demands

• Working in close proximity to others
• Working with heavy machinery and products
• Moderate to high noise levels
• Tasks may require both indoor and outdoor work assignments
• May be subject to hot and cold temperatures inside the warehouse depending upon outside weather conditions
• Occasional manual labor
