Aerotek in Medina, OH is seeking a dedicated Material Handler for 1st shift to safely move, load, and unload materials, operating forklifts and overhead cranes as needed. You will maintain organized inventory and follow all safety procedures in a fast-paced fabrication environment. This contract-to-hire role offers day shifts from 6:30 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m. with competitive hourly pay and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan if converted.

Job Title: Material Handler | 1st Shift | $20+HR

Job Description

The Material Handler plays a key role in safely moving, organizing, and storing raw materials and finished products to support efficient production operations. This position focuses on accurate loading and unloading of shipments, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, and maintaining a clean, well-organized work area while following all safety guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments while ensuring materials are handled accurately, safely, and on schedule.

• Operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner to move materials throughout the facility.

• Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently to transport raw materials and finished products as needed.

• Move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility using forklifts and overhead cranes to support production and shipping activities.

• Maintain proper material storage and inventory organization to ensure easy access and accurate tracking of materials.

• Follow all workplace safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, and equipment instructions at all times.

• Help keep work areas clean, organized, and production-ready by performing general labor and housekeeping tasks.

• Support continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing safety, quality, and overall operational efficiency.

• Assist with loading and unloading materials and products in a manner that prevents damage and maintains quality standards.

• Use mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor material handling issues and report equipment or safety concerns promptly.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience operating forklifts, with the ability to do so safely and efficiently.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with material handling equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Medina, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
