Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC is seeking a forklift operator for our Mauldin, SC facility. The role focuses on safe handling, loading/unloading waste, and equipment maintenance. You’ll work in a dynamic environment within our waste services operations.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in shipping/receiving, a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and operate forklifts with attachments is required. Join a team dedicated to safety and reliability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies and working safely.
• Monitor equipment in use and report major/minor issues to supervisor.
• Unload and load wastes in conformance with company rules and regulations.
• Offload and check-in inbound waste streams.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Load/unload waste safely per regulations.
• Operate forklift with attachments.
• Check consistency between manifested types/quantities and actual containers.
• Use equipment to collect samples for analysis and compatibility checks.
• Keep work areas, walls, pits, drains and floors clean and safe.
• Understand coding and labeling systems for container handling.
• Use PPE as required (boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection, respirator).
• Sweep and clean the assigned area periodically.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for operating a forklift at our facility in Mauldin, SC.

Job Duties

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
• Monitors equipment assigned to the area and notifies the supervisor of major/minor issues and breakdowns.
• Responsible for the unloading and loading of wastes in conformance to company rules and regulations.
• Offloads and checks-in inbound waste streams.
• Must perform daily PM and inspections on operating equipment.
• Load, unload waste safely in accordance with Company, federal, state, and local regulations/rules.
• Operate a forklift with attachments.
• Check for inconsistencies with manifested types and quantities with actual containers received in accordance with Company rules and regulations.
• Use proper equipment to remove samples of materials for analysis and compatibility checks.
• Responsible for keeping work areas, walls, pit drain, and floor in a clean and safe condition.
• Understand coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containers.
• Position handles materials and will often require the use of PPE: boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection, and respirator.
• Shovels, sweeps, and cleans the area in which they are assigned periodically throughout the day.
• Any other duty assigned by the Plant Manager.
