Job summary

International Paper is seeking a forklift operator to safely move materials and goods within a manufacturing environment in Kansas City. You will load and unload trailers and railcars, transport materials, perform daily equipment inspections, and ensure inventory accuracy through proper handling and documentation.

The role requires forklift experience or certification, basic computer and documentation skills, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION
THE JOB YOU WILL PERFORM
  • Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to move materials, finished goods, and supplies throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trailers, railcars, and production lines in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transport raw materials and finished products to designated storage and production areas.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or safety concerns.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through proper product handling, storage, and documentation.
  • Follow all safety, quality, housekeeping, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support production and warehouse operations as needed to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Work effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to achieve operational goals.
THE SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials in a manufacturing environment.
