Job summary

International Paper is seeking General Helper/Machine Operator staff at its Thorofare, NJ facility. The role starts as General Helper during probation and transitions to Machine Operator once qualified.

Scheduled for 2nd and 3rd shifts (3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-7:00am) on a Monday-Friday basis, with on-site work at Thorofare Retail, NJ. Pay starts at $20.81/hr during probation and increases to $21.76/hr after qualification, up to $30.32/hr.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of hands-on Industrial Plant manufacturing experience.
  • Corrugated Industry Experience Preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measurer and ruler.
  • Ability to use basic shop math.
  • Ability to learn; follow instructions and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Safely run machines and follow all safety rules and practices at all times.
  • Count and stack finished product.
  • Read factory work orders, print cards and design specifications.
  • Read tape measures and other test equipment.
  • Coordinate activities with other machine crew members to set up and run orders.
  • Maintain quality and production standards.
  • Monitor quality and quantity of production.
  • Maintain housekeeping during shift.
  • Perform quality inspections and tests and record findings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

The Job You Will Perform
  • Safely run machines and follow all safety rules and practices at all times;
  • Count and stack finished product;
  • Learn customer requirements and specifications by reading factory work orders, print cards, and design specifications;
  • Utilize basic shop math;
  • Accurately read tape measures, gauges and other test equipment;
  • Coordinate activities with other machine crew members to efficiently set up and run orders;
  • Maintain quality and production standards as required by the company;
  • Continually monitor the quality and quantity of production;
  • Maintain housekeeping continually during the assigned shift;
  • Perform quality inspections and tests, and record findings; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
