New-Indy Containerboard in Hickory, NC is seeking a Forklift Operator to load and unload materials, move items to storage areas and assist with production lines. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a forklift certification.

You will follow safety procedures, perform inspections and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include locating stock, delivering to machines, inspecting products for quality, and contributing to production

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset.
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator preferred.
• Knowledge of product quality specifications
• Knowledge equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Forklift certification per OSHA standards.

Responsabilités

• Operate forklift safely and be qualified to operate it.
• Complete forklift inspection before shift and after new forklift; log maintenance requests.
• Locate stock before run.
• Deliver stock to machines safely and on time.
• Inspect products for quality conformance.
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely.
• Maximize equipment utilization and operate at capacity.
• Follow daily production schedule and suggest optimization improvements.
• Prepare reports on production data, machine status, safety and quality.
• Duties may expand with additional responsibilities.

Job Details: Job Location: NC- Hickory (2) - Hickory, NC, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: First Shift, Job Category: Manufacturing, SUMMARY: Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.
• Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Locate stock before the start of the run.
• Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to - production data, machine operational status, safety data, quality data.
• Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.
