Job summary

Carolina Container LLC in Hickory, NC is seeking a qualified Forklift Operator to load, unload, and move materials within the corrugated manufacturing plant. You will inspect forklifts, follow safety protocols, and document production and quality data.

Responsibilities include locating stock, delivering to machines on time, maintaining a clean, safe environment, and contributing to production schedules while adhering to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience in corrugated industry preferred.
• Must be forklift certified per OSHA standards.
• Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Prior forklift operator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks.
• Complete forklift inspections before start of shift and for new forklifts; turn in maintenance work orders as needed.
• Locate stock before the start of the run and deliver to machines safely and on time.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely (production data, machine status, safety data, quality data).
• Maximize equipment utilization by operating at capacity and speed; adhere to daily production schedule; suggest improvements.

Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift. Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Locate stock before the start of the run. Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards. Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed. Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals. Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to - production data, machine operational status, safety data, quality data.
