Job summary

New-Indy Containerboard in Hickory, NC is seeking a dependable forklift operator for the third shift to load/unload materials, move stock, and support a safe, efficient plant. You will help maintain workflows by handling pallets, performing clamp truck duties, and documenting production data.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three years of forklift experience, and a current forklift license.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.
• Must be qualified to properly operate the clamp truck and perform inspections.
• Locate stock before the start of the run and adhere to the production schedule.
• Deliver stock to machines safely and on time, and complete necessary paperwork and reports.
• Assist with improving scheduling to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.

Job Details: Job Location: NC- Hickory (2) - Hickory, NC, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Salary Range: $20.00 - $28.00Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Third Shift, Job Category: Manufacturing, SUMMARY: Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operation and care of trucks in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the clamp truck.
• Complete and document a clamp truck inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new clamp truck and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Locate stock before the start of the run.
• Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
• Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.
