Job summary

New-Indy Containerboard LLC seeks an experienced forklift operator to load and unload materials, move goods between storage areas and machines, and ensure accurate documentation. You will inspect equipment, follow safety protocols, and help maintain production schedules in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least three years of forklift experience, knowledge of warehouse scanning systems, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Three years of forklift experience required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Prior corrugated industry experience preferred.
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Knowledge of equipment design and capabilities helpful for efficiency.
• Familiar with layouts, production specs and product quality specs.
• Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to prevent injury and promote safety.
• Ability to use warehouse scanners.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to load/unload materials and move them to storage areas, machines and loading docks.
• Complete forklift inspections before shifts and when operating a new forklift.
• Locate stock before the start of the run.
• Adhere to daily production schedule and suggest optimizations to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals.
• Deliver stock to machines safely and on time.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
• Prepare and file reports (Production Data, Machine Status, Safety, Quality).
• Maximize equipment utilization by operating at available capacity and speed.
• Duties may be expanded or changed as needed.

Summary

Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.
• Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Locate stock before the start of the run.
• Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
• Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.
