Job summary

Carolina-Container-A-Division-of-New-Indy is seeking a qualified forklift operator in Hickory, NC. You will load/unload materials, move them to storage, and support production lines while maintaining safety and efficiency.

This role requires forklift certification per OSHA, reliability, ability to inspect equipment, and ability to read factory instructions. You will document inspections, complete production and quality reports, and help optimize the daily schedule.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Prior forklift operator experience preferred.
• Knowledge of product quality specifications.
• Forklift certification per OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks.
• Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Locate stock before the start of the run and deliver appropriate stock to machines safely and on time.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner (production data, machine status, safety data, quality data).
• Duties may be expanded and additional duties may be assigned.

SUMMARY: Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.Locate stock before the start of the run.Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on timeExamine products to verify conformance to quality standards.Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.Adheres to daily production schedule.
