Overview

Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Forklift Operator based in Altavista, VA.

Work hours are 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, 4 days one week and 3 days the next.

The primary duties of a Forklift Operator include:

• Performing product handling and lift truck operations to stack, transport, and store work-in-process and finished goods.
• Supplying production lines with materials and moving finished goods to the warehouse.
• Completing line driver reports accurately, showing locations and quantities of raw materials used and finished goods stored.
• Assisting production line employees during breaks and lunch periods.
• Following all safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies.
• Performing safety inspections and reporting equipment issues.
• Participating in quality improvement projects and related activities.
• Reviewing daily production schedules and bringing materials to production lines.
• Removing, storing, and reporting on production scrap and finished goods.
• Maintaining accurate records of materials used and produced.
• Participating in physical inventory counts.
• Ensuring proper storage and handling of finished goods and raw materials.
• Assisting with stock handling and trailer loading when needed.
• Following forklift procedures and completing safety and maintenance checklists.
• Communicating shift and inventory information with supervisors and team members.
• Completing required documentation.
• Using forklifts to move pallets and ensuring quality inspection of finished pallets.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year forklift experience preferred. Essential skills include:

• Regular, punctual attendance.
• Computer skills and typing proficiency.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
