Forklift Operator

The Forklift Driver is an entry-level position within our distribution department at our bakeries. They are responsible for front-line distribution operations that include moving stacks of product, using pick-to-light programs or voice-activated equipment, filling orders, loading and unloading trucks, etc.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure the integrity and certification of the food safety and food quality system.
• Report and address any food safety and quality issues.
• Follow procedures in the Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan, supporting SQF system and third-party audits.
• Load trucks with proper product varieties.
• Know product locations on the shipping dock.
• Manage inventory of product varieties in trays.
• Keep trays available for wrapping personnel.
• Unload products and empty trays from transports.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or leads.
• Maintain regular, dependable attendance.
• Physical requirements include lifting, bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and standing.
• Other duties as assigned.

What we need from you:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years of shipping or warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to use hand trucks, dollies, or other equipment to move products.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stack, carry trays, push/pull stacks.
• Ability to work around food machinery.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to stand and/or stoop for full shifts (typically 12 hours).
• Ability to work in loud, hot environments.
• Willingness to work irregular shifts, including weekends and holidays, and split days off.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
