Job summary

Wolter Inc. in Sugar Grove, IL is seeking a Shop Mechanic to support our Service Department. You will complete service jobs, document repairs, and quote customers while working closely with the Shop Foreman.

As a Shop Mechanic, you’ll train on new products, maintain safety standards, and help keep the shop organized. You will need your own essential tools and must hold MHE certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience repairing powered industrial equipment.
• Experience fixing forklift trucks and other products including LP Gas, diesel, and electric trucks.
• Completion of required training courses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Basic computer skills and laptop proficiency.
• Own the necessary repair tools as per company list.
• Certification to operate material handling equipment.
• Demonstrates commitment to Wolter's mission.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned service jobs with expert precision.
• Document and recommend additional repairs; prepare quotes.
• Communicate with the Shop Foreman, Shop Lead, and/or Shop Service Manager for technical assistance or unusual service challenges.
• Attend service training classes to stay ahead on new products and refresh knowledge.
• Submit daily paperwork promptly, including timecards and maintenance reports.
• Keep the shop organized and spotless – a tidy space is a productive space.
• Offer a helping hand to fellow shop techs when needed.
• Always prioritize safety, following rules and policies diligently.
