Job summary

Borusan Pipe is seeking a forklift operator for a manufacturing environment in Baytown, TX. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, operating pipe-related production lines, and complying with PPE and safety rules.

Qualifications

  • Basic English reading, writing, and arithmetic and computer skills required.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and devices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
  • Flexible or rotating schedule including overtime and weekends when needed.
  • Ability to respond to call outs when required.
  • Experience operating pipe-related production lines (Pipe Mill, Heat Treat, Hydro/Inspection, Threadlines).
  • Ability to safely load and unload trucks and operate heavy equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain transfer and production operations per plant policies.
  • Instruct yard helper on transfer and housekeeping tasks.
  • Verify loading/unloading of material for accuracy.
  • Assist Inventory Control with material counts and verification.
  • Route trucks to loading/unloading destinations within the yard.
  • Rack materials per BMP policies and procedures and report issues.
  • Communicate material, rack, or truck problems to Yard Lead-Man/Supervisor.
  • Assist processing inbound/outbound racks as needed.
  • Notify Yard Management of equipment problems.
  • Follow PPE policies and safety rules.

Job description

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.


Qualifications:


  • 1.1.A High School diploma or equivalent with at least one year of proven Forklift Operation experience in an OCTG field.

  • 1.2.Basic English reading, writing, and arithmetic and computer skills required.

  • 1.3.Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and hand held technical devices.

  • 1.4.Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.

  • 1.5.Must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time and weekends when needed.

  • 1.6.Employee must be able to respond to call outs when required.

  • 1.7.Operator shall demonstrate ability and skills to operate and keep up with All and any Production Lines: Pipe Mill, Heat Treat, Hydro / Inspection and Threadlines.

  • 1.8.Operator shall demonstrate ability and skills to safely load and unload Trucks.

  • 1.9.Operator shall demonstrate ability and skills to safely operate Pettibone to load Gondolas and/or other heavy equipment to load Bulkhead flatcars for Rail Operations.


Responsibilities:


  • 2.1.Maintain transfer and production operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

  • 2.2.Instruct yard helper of the transfer and housekeeping operation.

  • 2.3.Verifies all loading and unloading of material for assurance.

  • 2.4.Assists Inventory Control for verification of counts and material.

  • 2.5.Routes trucks to loading and unloading destinations within the yard.

  • 2.6.The employee is responsible for the racking of material per BMP policies and procedures.

  • 2.7.Communicating to Yard Lead-Man/Supervisor any problems with material, racks, or trucks.

  • 2.8.Assisting at processing inbound and outbound racks when needed.

  • 2.9.Communicate to Yard Management any problems with equipment.

  • 2.10.Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.


Activities:


  • 3.1.Employee must report to Yard Lead-man for production or Yard Supervisor for special projects on daily tasks.

  • 3.2.Assist Yard Lead-Man with loading, unloading and verification of material.

  • 3.3.Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.

  • 3.4.Lift and transfer material in a safe manner as per safety regulations and instructions.

  • 3.5.Document, verify and record transfers on MES.

  • 3.6.Other duties as assigned.
