Job summary

RTSinspection seeks a Forklift Operator to support OCTG production by loading, unloading, and moving materials using powered industrial trucks. You will maintain a clean, safe work area, perform routine equipment checks, and follow PPE guidelines as directed by supervisors.

The role requires attention to safety, accurate handling of loads, and timely documentation. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position with potential overtime and weekend scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift certification per OSHA standards preferred.
• Clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload OCTG goods.
• Deliver and move materials to and from storage areas and loading trucks.
• Ensure loads are secure and inventory is accounted for.
• Perform daily equipment checks and report any maintenance needs.
• Log completed work and prepare necessary documentation.
• Coordinate and expedite repair/assembly operations with Inspection Manager.

Description

The forklift operator position performs all tasks involved in the production of the company's OCTG goods. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

• All personal protective equipment (PPE) must be inspected by the employee and worn upon direction of supervisors, managers, and the safety manager. Participate in mandatory safety or PPE training and notify their supervisor when new PPE is necessary.


• Maintain a clean, neat and groomed personal appearance to reflect a positive image of themselves and the company.


• Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload OCTG goods and delivers and moves them to and from storage areas, machines and loading trucks, in designated storage areas.


• Obtains a copy of production paperwork and transports material or equipment to designated Safely moves material around the facility


• Stacks material in the correct storage area, following inventory control instructions


• Checks that all loads are secure


• Perform daily equipment checks such as recharging the trucks battery and lubricating equipment


• Notify supervisor of any mechanical, leaking or material issues in a timely fashion.


• Coordinate and expedite repair/assembly operations with Inspection Manager.


• Evaluate self-work to ensure compliance with work instructions and standards.


• Log completed work and prepare necessary documentation.

Work Environment

Position Type/Work Schedule

• This is a full-time non-exempt hourly position, and the days of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends and/or holidays may be scheduled. Employee may be scheduled to work overtime and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises.
