Job summary

G&W Equipment, Inc. in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Field Service Technician to service and repair forklifts and material handling equipment at customer facilities. You will diagnose issues in the field and perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and emergency repairs.

You will work independently, communicate clearly with customers, complete service reports, and maintain tools and inventory. The role requires strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience repairing forklifts or heavy equipment.
• Experience with multiple brands of forklifts preferred.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environments.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair forklifts and material handling equipment (electric, LPG, diesel, and gas).
• Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and emergency repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and equipment status.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and inventory in a professional manner.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
