Job summary

GTI Fabrication is seeking a Safety Coordinator in Goodyear, AZ to develop and maintain safety protocols for daily operations. You will partner with leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry standards while driving safe day-to-day work practices across the site.

You will lead training programs, inspections, and incident investigations, coordinating hazard control measures and timely communication of safety requirements to all staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum three to six years related experience in safety.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office.
• Prior experience with OSHA audits and preparing safety documentation.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Good judgement and timely decision-making.
• Familiarity with safety requirements and cautions.

Responsibilities

• Develops and coordinates a training program for general safe work practices and hazards.
• Performs scheduled inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions and improve safety.
• Investigates and reduces accidents and losses in compliance with regulations.
• Communicates and enforces site safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards; updates standards as needed.
• Establishes quarterly training programs for all employees and supervisors.
• Conducts safety training and orientation for new employees.
• Holds safety meetings for staff regarding safety of employees, vehicles, property, and liability exposures.
• Ensures safe and healthy working conditions and enforces safe practices.
• Encourages reporting of unsafe conditions and scheduling of repairs.
• Encourages reporting any injuries and manages follow-up.
• Communicates loss prevention information to management and drives goals.
• Develops and maintains a Return to Work Program with appropriate staff and insurers.
