Job summary

Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay in San Mateo, CA is seeking a store associate to join our team. You will welcome customers, process donations, label items, and assist with loading/unloading while maintaining a clean, organized store environment.

The role requires excellent customer service, ability to pass a background check and drug screen where applicable, and physical capability to lift and stock items. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• English proficiency in reading and speaking.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Accept donations from customers and provide excellent service.
• Label Gaylords accurately.
• Offer receipts to donors for all donations.
• Ask about hazardous items and provide disposal locations.
• Write sales tickets and signs for furniture and large items.
• Assist customers with loading and unloading to/from vehicles.
• Maintain merchandise placement per PPM standards.
• Assist with loading/unloading onto/off trucks or trailers.
• Safely operate pallet jack and walkie stacker.
• Perform daily safety inspections on equipment.
• Follow safety rules and use PPE as required.
• Provide floor care in the store as needed.
• Cross-train in other store positions as needed.
• Maintain regular in-person attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
