Job Overview

The Forklift Operator II is responsible for completing material movement throughout the facility and grounds by moving, loading, and unloading assets using a wide variety of material handling equipment at a proficient level, such as a forklift and/or pallet jack.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Pull specific vending and cold drink equipment to fulfill sales request needs.
  2. Ensure all outbound loads are secured and safe by applying protective wrapping as needed and that the proper documentation is attached (STO).
  3. Load and unload trailers to support delivery activities following CCCI SOPs, ensuring accuracy by updating SAP, CONA via handhelds for accountability of inbound and outbound loads supported by the Regional Operation Center.
  4. Perform all safety and housekeeping activities, including conducting pre-and post-trip checks, reviewing daily documentation for accuracy, and maintaining a neat work area.
  5. Assist with staging equipment, yard maintenance, and other miscellaneous activities as directed.
  6. Utilize a switcher to maneuver 53 and pup trailers to the dock as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  1. Working knowledge of basic safety principles, including proper lifting and use of personal protective equipment.
  2. Advanced forklift skills (single-wide) with safe and efficient operation in small areas.
  3. Basic pallet-jack skills.
  4. Rudimentary mechanical skills and simple tool usage.
  5. Ability to operate multiple pieces of simple machinery.
  6. Ability to read and follow written SOPs or instructions.
  7. Ability to complete forms (handwritten or computer-based) to document activities and results.
  8. Follow verbal instructions with intermediate math skills.
  9. Understanding of productivity elements and ability to assess order building and loading workflows.
  10. Manage multiple processes simultaneously to support system efficiency.
  11. Accurately count received items and compare to manifests.
  12. Load trucks following documentation with high accuracy.
  13. Strong communication skills.
  14. Ability to work in high/low temperatures, noisy conditions, slippery surfaces, and broken glass.
  15. Occasional lifting over 25 lbs., rarely over 50 lbs.
  16. Sit for long periods and frequently get on/off forklifts.
  17. Open and close truck dock doors.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Forklift and pallet jack certification.
  • Switcher operation certification.
  • Class A CDL where required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in logistics environment.
  • Understanding of truck/trailer loading strategies and weight distribution principles.
Work Environment

Noisy and non-temperature-controlled, with high/low temperature conditions.
