Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Massachusetts is seeking a skilled grinder inspector to visually examine in-process forgings, identify surface defects, and perform grinding operations with air, hi-cycle and swing frame grinders.

You will blend repaired areas, record quality data, coordinate with supervision, and maintain a clean, safe work area while handling heavy forgings and operating cranes as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to visually inspect forgings for surface defects and select proper grinding tools.
• Able to operate air, hi-cycle, swing frame grinders to perform specified operations.
• Record and maintain proper paperwork related to the work.
• Experience with cleaning and blending surfaces on forgings and ensuring tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Receive job assignments from supervisor and follow Process Sheets.
• Inspect forgings surfaces and remove defects with grinders as needed.
• Blend ground areas on forging surfaces to meet tolerance.
• Operate blast and ceramic machines when required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and record paperwork.
