Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) in North Grafton, MA is seeking a full-time inspector/grinder to visually inspect in-process forgings, detect surface defects, and remove defects using air, hi-cycle, and swing frame grinders.

You will follow process sheets and ensure quality while maintaining a clean work area. This on-site role requires operating grinders and related machinery, recording work, and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Requires training to operate hand grinders and blasting equipment.
• Must be able to recognize a wide variety of surface defects and select proper tool to remove defect.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forgings surface defects using air hi-cycle swing frame grinders and insert proper cutting wheel.
• Blend ground areas on surface of forging.
• Ask supervisor to check work for acceptance or rejection if defect extends beyond tolerance.
• Operate blast and ceramic machines as required.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Record and maintain proper paperwork.
