Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a skilled grinder to finish gate material, blend surfaces and ensure dimensional tolerances on castings. You will use belt grinders, fixed grinders, air tools and hand tools while observing safety procedures and documenting measurements.

The position requires reading tech cards, following specifications, lifting up to 80 pounds, and working in conditions with noise, dust and temperature extremes; training is provided on the job.

Qualifications

• Grinding skills and working knowledge of grinding tools, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications on Tech Cards.
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing 30 to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to work in difficult conditions with noise, dust, and temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

• Finish grinding and blending of gating material and defect areas to meet tolerances.
• Visually inspect castings and take dimensional measurements for compliance.
• Safely operate grinders and hand tools; follow safety rules and report problems.
• Complete logs and records of work performed; perform minor maintenance on equipment.
• May provide training or direction to B-level grinders.
