The Peoria Park District in Peoria, IL seeks a Forestry Foreman to lead our park arboricultural operations. Under the Supervisor of Park Horticulture & Recreation Maintenance, you will direct tree removals, pruning, planting, and equipment upkeep.

This full-time role requires five years forestry experience, a junior college certificate in horticulture, and a valid CDL with air brakes. You will supervise staff, maintain safety records, and ensure compliance with arboriculture standards within our

• Must have supervisory experience in forestry operations.
• Strong knowledge of arboriculture standards and safety procedures.
• Familiarity with equipment used in tree removal and pruning.

Responsibilities

• Direct and perform the removal of dead and dangerous trees and stumps.
• Direct and perform pruning of trees to arboriculture standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Operate specialized arboricultural equipment.
• Plant and transplant young trees and shrubs.
• Requisition supplies and maintain maintenance records.
• Keep time records for Forestry crew.
• Follow safety procedures and support the safety program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
