Job summary

The foreman will assign tasks, train staff in proper horticultural techniques and ensure compliance with pesticide, safety and regulatory standards while coordinating with supervisors on project timelines and resource needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring for and cultivating trees and shrubs including pruning, spraying, planting.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a crew setting.
• Ability to organize, supervise and direct the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a moderately large group of workers removing, planting, transplanting, moving, pruning, spraying, cultivating and caring for trees and shrubs.
• Instructs crew on forestry techniques and safety precautions when handling large branches or trees.
• Assigns work and directs crew on appropriate methods for forestry tasks.
• Maintains safety for workers, public and property during operations.
• Keeps daily work records and forestry service request data.
• Monitors crew schedules and equipment use.
