Job summary

Dallas City Hall seeks a Crew Leader in Forestry to lead medium to large crews across multiple trades for park and infrastructure maintenance. You will organize daily assignments, supervise on-site work, and ensure safety and efficiency in challenging environments.

The role requires extensive equipment operation experience, CDL A/B eligibility, and strong leadership to coordinate repairs, safety training, and citizen communications in all weather conditions. On-call storm support is included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Four years of experience operating a variety of machines/equipment in a large municipality or complex infrastructure.
• One year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• CDL Class A with good driving record required for Forestry/ Parks roles; CDL B may be considered with goal to obtain CDL A.
• Movement Area Certification for Aviation is required.
• TCEQ License for DWU may be required.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, prepares, and issues daily work assignments for crewmembers; ensures safety and efficiency.
• Leads and collaborates with crewmembers; assigns tasks and provides on-site training.
• Maintains records of expenses, work orders, schedules, and attendance.
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment; ensures tools are clean and ready.
• Assigns site clean-up and maintenance activities to keep premises safe.
• Drives City trucks to transport workers, materials, and equipment.
• Responds to citizen inquiries and provides information on tree maintenance and related services.
• Supports emergency responses during storms and debris removal on public property.
