Job summary

The City of Dallas seeks a Supervisor-Forestry to lead a forestry crew within the Public Works department. This role supervises daily operations, delegates tasks, and ensures safety and quality.

Responsibilities include training, equipment operation, and coordinating with city partners to plant trees. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, five years in forest maintenance with two years in lead roles, and ISA Arboriculture certification; a valid driver's license is

Responsibilities

• Delegates, assigns, and manages daily work for crews, ensuring safe procedures.
• Provides supervision and technical expertise on tree maintenance.
• Sets pace of work and provides on-site training; ensures materials and tools are available.
• Documents daily operations and submits time sheets and summaries.
• Performs preventative maintenance and safety checks on equipment and tools.
• Operates City trucks to transport workers and materials; trains staff in safe driving.
