Job summary

The Department of Forestry and Fire Management seeks a Forest Legacy Program Manager to administer the Forest Legacy and CFLP programs across Arizona. You will manage budgets, engage stakeholders, coordinate due diligence, and drive grant proposals for federal consideration.

100% grant-funded with potential remote Arizona-based work; collaborate with state and federal partners to advance land conservation and stewardship initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Conservation, or related field.
• Experience with land acquisitions and conservation easements.
• Three years of work experience in a relevant profession.

Responsibilities

• Administer Forest Legacy Program (FLP) and CFLP; liaise with USFS, local and regional governments, NGOs, private landowners, and partners.
• Oversee grant and budget administration; compile and review applications; draft narratives; manage multi-million dollar budgets; track metrics and annual reports.
• Coordinate due diligence for land acquisitions; oversee appraisals, mineral evaluations, and baseline docs; monitor FLP-funded properties for easement compliance.
• Develop and evaluate a strategic plan; maintain guidance; participate in program reviews; maintain records for FLP and CFLP.
• Administer cost-share project awards and master agreements; manage contracts; track status in USFS data systems; conduct site visits.
• Coordinate the Forest Stewardship Advisory Committee and participate on FLP advisory boards.
• Perform other duties related to the position.
