Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is hiring an Equipment Operator B for the Moshannon Forest District. You will operate large machinery, maintain forest facilities, and support fire prevention and forestry projects across the state forest system.

Expect a full-time schedule with daytime hours; telework is not offered. Strong safety focus and team collaboration are essential for this public lands role.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A or two years operating heavy construction and maintenance equipment with GVW 32,001+ pounds, or an equivalent combination of experience or training.
• Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver’s license.
• This position requires a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Residence in PA required. Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Operate graders, bulldozers, backhoes, and other heavy equipment for construction and maintenance.
• Drive heavy vehicles over 32,001 pounds for hauling materials and seasonal operations.
• Perform grounds maintenance and routine upkeep of forest facilities and surrounding areas.
• Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and cleaning of assigned equipment.
• Assist with fire prevention, controlled burns, and suppression activities as needed.
• Support forestry programs involving tree removal, erosion control, surveying, and wildlife efforts.
