Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Equipment Operator B to work outdoors, operating heavy machinery and supporting forest maintenance across state lands. You will contribute to wildfire response, erosion control and proper record keeping.

Requirements include a Class A CDL and PA residency; prior operator experience is required. The role offers full-time hours, with daytime shifts and no telework option.

Qualifications

• One year of Equipment Operator A experience or two years operating heavy equipment with GVW 32,001 lb+.
• Valid Class A CDL is required; PA residency must be met.
• Ability to perform essential job functions and comply with BMPs.
• Experience with road and trail construction and maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate graders, bulldozers, loaders and other heavy machinery for forest maintenance.
• Perform manual labor and assist with skilled and unskilled maintenance tasks.
• Construct and maintain forest roads, parking areas and recreational trails.
• Assist with wildfire prevention, suppression and emergency response.
• Maintain vehicle logs and complete reports for supervisor review.
