Job summary

Leviton is seeking a dedicated Test Engineer to join our team in Melville, NY. The role focuses on specialized testing, forensic engineering, and development of test fixtures to support product and materials testing initiatives.

You will provide litigation support and collaborate with manufacturing facilities on testing equipment and procedures. Ideal candidates bring a bachelor's degree in engineering or physics, with 2+ years' experience in product/test engineering and a strong grounding in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical or mechanical) or physics.
• 2+ years' experience in product and materials test engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical and transformer theory.
• Experience interpreting safety standards (UL, CSA, NEC) and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized and long-term testing and research projects.
• Provide litigation support with evidence analysis and cause & effect testing of exemplar devices.
• Perform safety inspections and testing on Leviton merchandise displays.
• Development of test procedures.
• Assist manager by providing instruction to test technicians in proper test procedures and safety.
• Design and construction of specialized test fixtures.
• Perform in-field analysis of products for litigation support.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities with testing and test equipment.
