SOCOTEC Engineering in Brooklyn, New York, is seeking a Senior Engineer with 5+ years of laboratory testing experience for our Forensics Group. Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Materials or related field with familiarity in mechanical and material testing, instrumentation and data analysis.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Specialized knowledge in mechanical/structural failures, sensor systems, materials characterization.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain licensure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan and conduct standard and custom mechanical and material testing in the laboratory (tensile, Charpy V-notch, leak/pressure, durability, etc).
• Lead field testing and monitoring including sensor installation and data acquisition systems deployment.
• Prepare written test reports with data analysis and interpretation of results.
• Perform field and site inspections.
• Manage projects, pursue new business opportunities and communicate with stakeholders.
• Complete duties as assigned by manager.
