Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Crime Scene Technology, Forensic Science or a related field.
• Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license.
• IAI Crime Scene Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for collection and preservation of criminal evidence and processing of crime scenes.
• Monitor schedules and methods for providing forensic services; implement procedures to improve efficiency.
• Provide performance evaluations and guidance for staff development.
• Coordinate daily work schedules, organize files, and request equipment and supplies as needed.
• Serve as shift supervisory liaison with police officers, detectives, and other City departments.
• Testify in court as a qualified witness regarding crime scene processing and evidence examination.
