Job summary

City of Dallas is seeking a Supervisory Forensics role to oversee accused staff in the Forensics Unit. You will supervise fingerprinting, lab analysis, and firearm or toolmark examining, guiding teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities include coordinating work plans, evaluating performance, training staff, and facilitating rapid, transparent reporting. Expect shift variability and 24/7 call-out as needed.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience in crime scene investigation and analysis involving identification, collection, preservation, record keeping, and evaluation of forensic evidence.

Responsibilities

• Oversees staff performing forensic examining, gathering, analysis, and reporting for the Police Department.
• Coordinates, facilitates, and evaluates all forensics work to ensure accuracy and competency in evidentiary reporting.
• Participates in recruiting, interviewing, and selection of candidates for open positions; may authorize overtime.
