Job summary

City of High Point Police Department seeks a Crime Scene Unit Supervisor to lead Crime Scene Technicians in examining crime scenes and coordinating investigations. You will review reports, schedule work, document performance, and support forensic operations.

Responsibilities include training staff, maintaining chain-of-custody records, testifying in court, and ensuring adherence to procedures. A bachelor's degree and six years in crime scene processing are required, with NC driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in forensic science, biology, chemistry, criminal justice, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of six years of experience in crime scene processing.
• Must be in good standing with current agency with no serious reprimands in the last year.
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Crime Scene Technicians in crime scene processing and investigations.
• Review technical reports, maintain schedules, document performance, and complete payroll and admin tasks.
• Train Crime Scene Technicians and other department personnel in forensic disciplines.
• Maintain proficiency in crime scene duties including photographing scenes, collecting evidence, and testifying in court.
