Job summary

The Health & Human Services Commission is seeking a Security Supervisor at Vernon State Hospital to oversee daily security operations, supervise officers, and ensure policy compliance. The role entails coordinating shifts, reviewing incidents, and contributing to training programs within a state hospital environment.

Ideal candidates bring supervisory experience, security or emergency background, and a relevant degree.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 24 months security-related experience.
• Alternatively, four years of experience with no degree.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• One year of experience with security or emergency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Security or Emergency preferred.
• Experience with policy development, procedures, reports or plans.

Responsibilities

• Supervise security officers and assign workload.
• Prepare security schedules and coordinate shift changes.
• Review incident reports and escalate as needed.
• Develop and update security policies, standards, and training materials.
• Assist with budget requests for security resources.
• Conduct drills and investigations as required.
