Qualifications

• Knowledge of building or premise security and use of surveillance equipment.
• Skills in oral and written communication, including writing incident and other investigative reports.
• Knowledge of CPR and ability to administer it.
• Ability to communicate with potentially aggressive patients, visitors, and employees.
• Ability to patrol grounds, detect danger, and take appropriate action.
• Ability to prepare concise reports.
• Ability to remain calm, reasonable and react quickly in an emergency situation.

Responsibilities

• Monitors surveillance cameras and conducts routine patrols of buildings and grounds.
• Disseminates and coordinates emergency responses and information with hospital management and law enforcement when appropriate.
• Assists in apprehending suspects for unauthorized entry or other violations.
• Prepares timely incident and investigative reports regarding emergencies and security violations.
• Evaluates and recommends changes to security regulations.
• Performs duties to support disaster response, COOP activation, or alternate shift patterns.
