Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Vernon, TX seeks a Security Officer III for the Vernon State Hospital night shift. You will patrol the hospital grounds, monitor for incidents, and coordinate with staff to ensure safety and order.

Qualifications

• Four years or more continuous work experience in law enforcement, security or corrections.
• Three years or more security experience in a mental health facility.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital grounds to monitor and mitigate unusual occurrences.
• Direct daily activities of junior security officers and adjust shift tasks.
• Provide security to the hospital campus and assist visitors.
• Answer switchboard, fire alarm, and emergency lines as needed.
• Document incidents and write reports.
