Job summary

The City of Georgetown, Texas is seeking a Crime Scene Technician to locate, label, collect and preserve physical evidence at crime scenes, traffic fatalities and search warrants. Incumbents respond on rotating on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, and perform latent print processing and documentation with care to maintain chain of custody.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of full-time Crime Scene Technician experience.
• Ability to pass background, oral board, polygraph and psychological exam.

Responsibilities

• Process crime scenes for latent prints and collect evidence.
• Photograph major scenes and document findings with detailed notes.
• Maintain and secure chain of custody for all items.
• Assist investigations and testify as an expert witness when needed.
