Job summary

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is seeking an entry-level Forensic Technician for latent print processing, photography, and crime scene investigations. This on-site role involves handling evidence, documenting findings, and supporting a busy forensic unit.

The position requires knowledge of friction ridge patterns, photography, and the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed. A relevant degree or equivalent law enforcement experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forensic science, natural science, criminal justice or related fields or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; 21+ years old at application.
• Background investigation is required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Process and document crime scenes with photography or video.
• Search for latent fingerprints and preserve evidence.
• Operate Rapid DNA for presumptive profile generation or matching.
• Provide expert testimony in court and be available for callouts.
