Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience in forensics or insurance/legal forensics.
• Active PE license; resident state is the Midwest region.
• Willingness to travel up to 30–50% and participate in expert testimony.

Responsibilities

• Investigate the cause and origin of failures in mechanical systems across sites.
• Perform field investigations and document damaged property.
• Research failure modes and codes; provide repair or replacement recommendations.
• Prepare clear reports detailing opinions and conclusions.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams on large assignments.
• Maintain relationships with clients and consultants.
• Stay current with policies and participate in training.
