Job summary

MPI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to conduct forensic investigations into vehicle accidents, product failures, and property losses. The role involves field inspections, accident reconstruction, and project management within a collaborative engineering environment.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team serving law firms, insurers, manufacturers, and corporate clients across the United States, with strong focus on technical excellence and defensible conclusions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • PE licence or EIT certification with plans to obtain PE status.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems including powertrain, chassis, thermal, and vehicle dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel for site inspections and investigations as required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic engineering investigations involving vehicle accidents, product failures, and property losses.
  • Perform vehicle inspections, data retrieval, and downloads.
  • Reconstruct motor vehicle collisions using engineering calculations and simulation tools.
  • Prepare technical reports, findings, and expert opinions for clients and legal proceedings.
  • Manage multiple projects while coordinating field investigations and client requirements.
