Job summary

EFI Global is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our forensic team. Vehicle accident reconstruction experience is required; ACTAR certification is preferred.

You will analyze mechanical systems, component failures, and crash dynamics to deliver clear, defensible conclusions for legal and insurance cases. Responsibilities include preparing detailed reports, collaborating with attorneys and insurance professionals, and providing expert

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
  • Six (6) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • PC literate with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate accident sites, vehicles, and equipment to document evidence and determine damage scope.
  • Assess damages due to failures and determine origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
  • Research, evaluate, analyze and test causation of accidents and failures.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to produce detailed reports outlining causes.
  • Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions.
  • Document and maintain billable hours on time and expense basis for failure analysis and projects.
