Rimkus, a worldwide leader in engineering and forensic consulting, seeks a skilled mechanical engineer to perform forensic assignments and analyze incident causes related to mechanical failure. You will inspect sites, perform analyses, and develop sketches while preparing detailed reports for clients.

The role requires PE licensure or active progression toward licensure, FE exam completed, and a minimum of five years’ experience with machinery. Travel up to 25% and testimony may be involved.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or equivalent.
• FE exam completed; PE licensure or progress toward licensure within one year.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with machinery and equipment.
• Ability to travel up to 25% for site work.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic assignments in mechanical engineering within defined scope and budget.
• Investigate incidents to determine causes related to mechanical failure.
• Inspect sites and equipment; perform analyses and prepare sketches.
• Prepare oral and written reports documenting findings and remediation steps.
• Provide expert opinions and testimony as required; manage multiple projects.
